Who we are

A local provider, for local people.

Rural Aged Care Services Limited is a community-based organisation working out of Campbell Street in Corrigin. We exist for a simple reason: older people in the Wheatbelt should be able to get good care at home, without leaving the district they have spent their lives in.

We are registered for categories 1 to 5, which covers the full range of in-home and community aged care — domestic assistance, home maintenance, meals and transport, assistive technology and home modifications, social support, personal care, respite, care management and nursing. What we do not do is residential care; our whole focus is helping people stay where they are.

Being small is deliberate. Every client has a named care manager. Every care manager has a caseload they can actually know. And when you ring the office, you get someone who has probably driven past your front gate.

Rural Aged Care Services Limited is a registered provider of aged care services and delivers support under the Support at Home program.

What we stand for

Four things we will not trade away.

Dignity is not optional

It shows up in the small things: knocking before entering, asking before helping, and never talking about someone as if they are not in the room.

Plain English

If a letter, invoice or care plan cannot be understood by the person receiving it, we have written it badly. We will rewrite it.

Consistency over convenience

We would rather say no to a new client than spread our team so thin that nobody gets the same face twice.

Honesty about limits

If we cannot meet a need — clinical, cultural or geographic — we will say so and help you find someone who can.

Who you will meet

A small team with clear roles.

No layers of account managers. The people who plan your care are the people you can ring.

Your care manager

A registered nurse or experienced care coordinator who writes your plan, reviews it with you, and answers the phone when something changes. One named person, with a direct mobile number.

Registered nurses

Provide clinical care, oversee complex plans and are on call outside business hours. Every personal care plan involving clinical risk is signed off by an RN.

Support workers

Certificate III qualified or equivalent, police checked, first-aid trained and supervised. Matched to you on language, interests and temperament — not just postcode.

Interested in working with us?

We pay above award, keep rosters predictable, and fund ongoing dementia and palliative care training. If you are a carer in the Wheatbelt who wants to do the job properly, we would like to hear from you.

What a local provider means

The funding stays in the district.

A locally based provider does more than deliver services. It keeps jobs, skills and spending in the towns it serves — which matters more here than it does in the city.

For older residents

  • A wider range of services, closer to home
  • Home modifications, mobility and continence support
  • Pooled allied health — physio, OT, speech pathology, dietetics
  • More of each budget spent on care, not forfeited

For our community

  • Permanent, reliable home care in the district
  • More volunteering opportunities for local residents
  • Support for the ambulance service, Men's Shed and seniors' groups
  • Annual grants to local community organisations

For our local economy

  • Eight to ten full-time equivalent jobs created locally
  • A larger local pool of support workers, nurses and allied health
  • More work for local cleaners, gardeners, transport and retail

Our goal is to build trusted home aged care infrastructure that will serve these towns for decades to come — not to run a service out of Perth and drive in when it suits us.

Quality and safety

The compliance you should ask any provider about.

Aged care is heavily regulated, and it should be. Here is what sits behind every visit — and what you are entitled to ask us to prove.

  • Aged Care Quality StandardsWe are audited against the strengthened Standards, including Standard 1 (consumer dignity and choice) and Standard 2 (ongoing assessment and planning).
  • Screening before the first shiftPolice check, working-with-vulnerable-people clearance, reference checks and a supervised induction.
  • Insurance and governancePublic liability, professional indemnity and workers compensation, with a clinical governance committee that meets monthly.
  • A real complaints processWe respond within two business days. If you are unhappy with our answer, the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission is independent and free to contact.

Ask us for

  • Our client agreement and service handbook
  • A sample support plan and statement
  • Our privacy policy and feedback process
  • Evidence of staff screening and training

A good provider will send these without hesitation.

Come and meet us before you decide.

We are happy to visit, answer questions, and be compared with whoever else you are considering.
